Born and raised in New York and San Francisco, Andrea was educated at Radcliffe College, Harvard University, The University of California, Berkeley and King’s College, London where she pursued undergraduate and graduate studies in Mathematics.
Andrea became the first woman teacher at St. Paul’s Boys’ School and then again at King’s College School in London. She also spent a year as an investment analyst with Quilter, Hilton, and Goodison. She temporarily retired to have her six children but returned to education with her first major school project, the foundation of Abercorn School in 1987.
Based on the success of Abercorn and her knowledge of the US system and the NY market, Andrea opened the British International School of New York in 2006.
She intends to build a national chain of British International Schools in the United States and is also looking at selected international locations.

Anthony was educated at The London School of Economics and Balliol College Oxford. He was a stagiaire with the Commission of the European Union. Anthony’s interests are politics (he stood as a candidate in the 2001 general election) restoring a Cotswold cottage with the Thames at the foot of its garden, and finding husbands for all of his daughters!
Educated in London at St. Pauls’ Girl’s School, Abigail attended the University of Manchester where she studied Linguistics. There she discovered a passion not only for words but communication on a more holistic level. She undertook a Masters degree in Marketing and Management at Middlesex Buisness School.
Following her MA, Abigail worked for various Advertising agencies including Publicis before moving ‘client-side’ as a Brand Manager for L’Oreal in London.
After two years she moved to New York with L’Oreal to assist in the launch of a new cosmetics line for the company.
Looking for a change away from consumer goods and a move into a more strategic role in the family business, Abigail joined BIS-NY as Strategic Director in 2006. She is responsible for the management of the growth and direction of the school and is Resident Director for the Board of BIS-NY.
Sheila joins the IBS Board with a wealth of knowledge gained from extensive experience as a partner in a London based top twenty firm of chartered accountants. Her professional connections with the school in London go back over many years.
